Morning Swimming Session with Olympic Athlete Stephanie Proud

Coming from a family who loves swimming, Stephanie couldn’t run away from this.

She started swimming at the early age of 3 although she thinks that she should have started even earlier.

Olympic Swimmer, beautiful girl full of life and Speedo’s International Brand Ambassador are some of the phrases someone would use to describe her.

Fastskin LZR Racer X - Campaign_Elizabeth_Beisel (High Rez)

She started competing when she was 9 years old. Her first major competition was for the Great Britain junior team when she was 12, this lead to many international meets and 9 medals at the European Junior championships. Stephanie’s senior team accomplishments include 2010 Commonwealth Games finalist and 2011 World Championships semifinalist. Stephanie also competed in the 2009 World University Games in Belgrade where she won the gold medal.

At the age of 18, Stephanie moved to the United States where she trained at the University of Florida for the 2012 London Olympics, at which she proudly achieved 9th place in front of a home crowd.

Somewhere between her preparations for Rio’s Olympic Games for 2016 she made a quick stop to Dubai and gave a swimming session to a number of Editors and Bloggers who love sports.

Her guidance and patience made us all glad for waking up so early to go meet her!

The swimming session ended with an amazing and super healthy breakfast at Talise Fitness Center Coffee Shop. Highly recommended!

Introducing Excellency Center

Research showed that about 72% of computer users had neck pain at some point in their life. Guess what? I’m one of them! But I’m not worried anymore cause I’ve found the perfect specialists for that!

One hot Thursday life brought me to the heart of Dubai. I had the longest possible week but my treatment appointment with Excellency Center kept me going.

Conveniently located at the Old Town Island, the Center has been thoughtfully designed to convey the soothing, luxuriant feel of an ultra-modern cocoon. As soon as I walked in Excellency team made me feel so welcome. It took me some time to just admire the amazing interior and then a smiley face approached me asking me if I would like them to offer me something to drink and since there’s this big buzz in the city that they’re offering amazing Freddo Cappuccino, I went for this and I’m glad I did. 🙂

After I had my one to one complimentary session with Dr. Vasilis Mitsis (Physical Medice and Rehabilitation Doctor), he assessed my condition and recommended a tailor-made treatment so we could comfort the postural fatigue coming from the long hours of computer use (buuusted!).

They prepared my private room and Mrs. Meropi Papakonstantinou (Physiotherapist Specialist) immediately made me feel that I was literally in good hands. Don’t expect me to remember the names of the machines, although she took the time to explain me every single detail on how they work and how exactly their use would benefit my body, all I know is that the session took more than an hour and the combination of the machines with her magic hands relaxed my muscles to the max.

As all good things in life come to an end, so my Excellency Center experience did. Before that though Mrs. Meropi stayed with me and showed me step by step some exercises I should do every time I feel my neck heavy.

Breathing Life into the City – Rooftop Yoga

A trial rooftop yoga session was held last Saturday at the Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road.

Participants were able to “power up their weekend” with an hour-long ‘Vinyasa’ yoga on thr 43 floors above the busy Sheikh Zayed Road while soaking up breathtaking views of Dubai’s skyline.

“This vinyasa yoga session, set against the stunning view of Dubai, represents breathing life into the city” said general manager Erik Vedsegaard.

Sheraton Rooftop Yoga

“This particular rooftop yoga session was a one-off event before summer kicks in. Given the incredible response we have received so far, we will be making this a regular feature and will resume in August/September. Relevant details related to the sessions will be shared over the summer,” Mr Vedsegaard added.

The session was organised by Australian expat, Stephanie Mulet who has been practicing yoga for more than 12 years.

It’s an interesting idea and I reassure you i’ll keep you posted.
